The Christian Educators Fellowship biennial gathering will be at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin, October 12-16, 2012. The theme for the Conference is “Come and See.” Central scripture passages are John 1:35-39 and Psalm 66:5. Registration and more details may be found at our event website.
Green Lake Conference Center
All sessions, lodging and meals will be at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin. This Christian conference facility provides a variety of housing options from single bedrooms and large suites to houses for large groups and families. Please contact the conference center directly in order to make your housing and meal reservations. Be sure to say that you are with "Christian Educators Fellowship" to get our discounted rate and to be signed up for our group meals.
Transportation
While there are several airports within a similar proximity to Green Lake. We recommend that all persons traveling by airplane fly into the Milwaukee airport. Plans are being made to provide a bus to transport those who are staying for the entire event and flying through Millwaukee. There will be a reasonable fee for this service. Please check back later for more details.
You may also choose to rent a car at your selected airport. Green Lake is an easy two-hour drive from Milwaukee. Don't forget that all national CEF members receive a discount from Alamo Rental Car.
Scholarships
From the generosity of our membership, we are pleased to offer a limited number scholarships for your registration. Priority consideration will be given to students, racial/ethnic persons, small church educators and the unemployed or part-time Christian educators. These scholarships will cover the full conference registration fee for CEF members. Room and meal costs will be at your own expense. A scholarship application with additional details will be available at a later date.
Those who are not in need of a scholarship and would like assist may contribute to the scholarship fund online or by sending a check made out to Christian Educators Fellowship, Attn: Conference Scholarships, PO Box 24930, Nashville, TN 37202-4930. Scholarships will be offered as funds are available.
Preparation for the Education Professional (PEP)
For those just starting as a Christian educator or those who want a fresh start, you may want to come a day early to participate in our PEP course. This will be an all-day pre-conference class. You must be pre-registered for this course in order to attend. More details will be shared as the course is developed.
Certification
The United Methodist Church offers certifications in several areas including Christian education, spiritual formation, evangelism, music ministries, camp and retreat ministries, older adult ministry, youth ministry and now children's ministry. CEF is in conversation with a United Methodist seminary to provide one of the courses necessary to receive certification in The United Methodist Church.
Additional Tours and Retreats
CEF is currently investigating options for local tours to be offered around the time of the national conference. We encourage you to extend your stay before or after the conference in order to experience more of Green Lake, Milwaukee or other parts of Wisconsin.

Cancellation/Tranfer Policy
Please note that after March 1, 2012, a portion of your conference registration ($50) is non-refundable. Furthermore, CEF will be unable to provide any refunds for cancellation after September 1. Nevertheless, CEF will be happy to transfer your registration to the person of your choice. All cancellation and transfer requests must be received in writing. We hope to see all of you in Green Lake.
